What is cannabinol?
Most people have heard of THC and CBD even if you're not a cannabis user. But in marijuana plants there are other cannabinoids and one of them is CBN. This cannabinoid can have psychoactive properties and is produced when THC is exposed to heat or UV light and then exposed to oxygen . It can also result from the natural aging process of THC .
What does CBN do and how does CBN work?
CBN is still being studied but we do know a few things. Like most cannabinoids, it interacts with our CB1 and CB2 receptors in our body. Exactly how CBN affects the body, and more importantly, how it might affect our bodies, is unclear.
What is the difference between CBD and CBN?
Both CBN and CBD (cannabidiol) are cannabinoids, but they each have their own unique origins and properties. While CBD is a chemical compound found in the cannabis sativa plant, CBN is formed during the natural breakdown of THC. Although CBN was discovered before CBD, we still don't know much about it and it is nowhere near as available as CBD is today.
Although CBD may be an "uplifting " experience, it does not have the same physical effects as THC. CBN has the potential to be mildly psychoactive. This is because CBN is a by-product of THC. So if there is some THC present that hasn't fully metabolized, it can still have psychoactive properties.
Where can you find CBN?
CBN is available in certain forms. Here are some options:

- CBN Gummies: Are candies with a sweet flavor, typically combine CBN and CBD.
- CBN Capsules: CBN capsules can not only contain CBN, but also offer a variety of other cannabinoids, making them a full-spectrum product that embraces the idea of the entourage effect.
