Feminized autoflowering strains from Dutch Passion

Only Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa respond to changes in the day/night light cycle. The time at which an indica or sativa strain starts to flower depends on the length of the day. The flowering of autoflowering strains, i.e. cannabis strains that flower automatically, is not dependent on the length of the day; they flower on their own when they have reached a certain age. This flowering behavior is only found in the Cannabis Ruderalis species.

Dutch Passion works with Ruderalis varieties from the northern latitudes of Russia (Ural/Udmurtin) and Canada. Ruderalis strains contain only minute traces of THC, so to make them psychoactive they need to be crossed with THC-rich indica or sativa strains. Dutch Passion has put a lot of breeding effort into developing early-flowering autoflowering strains that are an attractive choice for any grower due to their short life cycle. It only takes eight to ten weeks from sowing to harvest. We only offer our autoflowering strains in feminized form (AutoFem).

Following the great success of our first two AutoFem strains launched in 2009, we released further AutoFem strains in 2010. The high demand reflects the advantages of cultivating AutoFem varieties in many indoor and outdoor scenarios compared to regular, non-autoflowering varieties.

Due to their short life cycle of approximately two and a half months and their small size, AutoFem strains are a perfect choice for almost any grow scenario. They are true cosmopolitans, "world varieties" that feel at home anywhere on the globe. Outdoors, they are easy to cultivate in pots or planted directly in beds. AutoFem potted plants can be placed on the patio or in places where space is limited, such as on the windowsill or balcony. In Mediterranean climates, up to three harvests per year are possible outdoors, and in very northern latitudes, one crop per year is possible outdoors - this was previously only possible with very few or no cannabis strains. Indoors, AutoFem cultivation can be practiced with a permanent 20 hours of light per day, which makes things much easier.
