Northern Light by Royal Queen Seeds
Northern Light from Royal Queen Seeds is one of the legendary strains that have left a lasting impression on the genetics of today's cannabis plants. Although the exact composition of Northern Light's parentage is obscure, it is believed to have originated from eleven different seeds from the West Coast of America. These strains have been bred, crossed and hybridized so much over the years that the exact genetics remain a mystery. However, one thing is certain: Northern Lights was the basis for many of the award-winning classics in the history of cannabis.
Legend has it that it was originally an exclusive indica plant from Afghanistan, although some of the original eleven plants are said to have contained Thai genetics. Today, Royal Queen Seeds is launching its feminized Northern Lights, which is still an indica-dominant hybrid, but carries a lot of sativa in its leaf structure.
Royal Queen Seeds' feminized Northern Lights grows up to 1.2 m tall indoors, but can reach over 2 m outdoors. It forms relatively wider internodal spacing and long, thin leaves, which indicates its sativa background. During flowering, her Afghan heritage comes to life, with dense, resin-covered nuggets spread across the entire plant, creating a huge main cola.
On average, it yields about 50-60 g per plant or about 500 g per square meter under a 600 watt lamp. Outdoors, it can yield up to 625 g per plant, but requires the warm climate of southern Spain, California or North Africa. With full sunlight and an adequate supply of nutrients and water, Northern Lights will grow into a tree and produce excellent yields.
The flowering time is after 7-8 weeks completed. During the flowering process, all flowers form with a light, resin-covered surface that begins to glow towards the end of growth.
Northern Lights is simply one of those knockout smokes that guarantees a couchlock session for minutes to come. The Afghan heritage really comes through in the smoke, and those looking for a strong stone need look no further than this beautiful strain.
