Original Afghani #1 regular from Seedsman
Original Afghani #1 regular is a traditional landrace that Sacred Seeds brought back from the mountains of Afghanistan in the seventies. It is one of the first true pure Indica used worldwide as a pure strain in cannabis breeding programs. It is known for dense buds, rich resin production and excellent hashish production properties.
This strain has been adapted and further optimized through selective crossing with various Afghan #1 parents to western breeding conditions. The popularity of Afghan #1 can also be seen in its use as the genetic basis for most indica varieties at Sensi Seeds Bank and other Seedbanks. Original Afghani #1 regular is a fast-growing, small, bushy, hard-stemmed plant with a notoriously strong scent during flowering. Its classic indica traits and pure-bloodedness make it the ideal indica mother plant. The genetic origin of Northern Lights is shrouded in legend, as no one can really claim "copyrights".
Northern Lights was created as an indoor variety at the end of the 1970s near Seattle in the state of Washington. Only the origin of the genetic material of current hybrids is known: California, the cradle of numerous world-famous cannabis strains. The career of Northern Lights began as a stabilized Sativa strain crossed with an Afghan Indica hybrid. Northern Lights traveled as a cutting in the Netherlands. In 1985, it was launched by the Seed Bank in the cannabis seed trade.
