Very potent, moderately difficult to grow, high-yielding, good growth, good genetics. My set-up was hydro substrate-free in AeroGrow 19, BlackDog Phytomax 3 lamp, one run with Geen1:11 fertilizer, another with Atami. Both were very tasty. The plant is not necessarily for beginners. It likes toppings, scroggings and lollipops.
If you know what you're doing: its growth can be influenced very well and stretch is rewarded because it sprouts several times. Later, the heavy shoots bend under the load. During this phase, I pull in a new scrog net and wrap the already bent shoots horizontally in the net, flower by flower. To have more space, I remove almost all the leaves. The main thing is that the flowers get light. If you don't know what you're doing, you'll be challenged by the normal, fir-like growth. A bit of experience helps, e.g. the "grow gurus" always advise not to do any hard topping in the stretch, because the plant will then try to sprout and the side shoots will sprout too. Yes, so if you still have room upwards and to the sides, let it grow.
That's exactly the effect you want with Future Island. The yields are super. The plant is greedy right up to the last day, demands light and tolerates constantly high and higher EC values up to mega clonk buds. Light gives weight, especially with good pruning technique.
When flushing, I got stuck with T.A. Flash Clean. Tried many others. I stuck with it because I only need to rinse for two days in Hydro. That way I can control the timing of my harvest. Two days of T.A. Flash Clean in combination with a Cool Cure for drying and ripening leads to a very tasty result for me.
