Special Kush 1 from Royal Queen Seeds is a feminized, photoperiod Indica-dominant strain (80 % Indica / 20 % Sativa) with a THC content of up to 17 %. The genetics are based on the cross Afghan x Kush – two of the oldest and purest landrace lines from the Hindu Kush mountains. The name Kush goes back to the Hindu Kush, a mountain range that stretches from Afghanistan to Pakistan. The landrace plants native to this region are among the oldest known cannabis lines and form the genetic foundation for a large part of modern Indica breeding. Afghan and Kush are both direct descendants of this region of origin and bring compact growth behavior, short flowering times, and the characteristic earthy hash aroma. Aroma and flavor – earthy hash with a fruity-spicy note

Special Kush 1 develops a classic Kush aroma profile: earthy, spicy and resinous, with a subtle fruity-sweet undertone. The flavor when consumed strongly recalls traditional hashish – full-bodied, dense and with a long finish. The buds are small and compact, densely covered with trichomes and release an intense, earthy scent when the container is opened. The terpene profile is typical for Kush genetics: myrcene dominates and provides the earthy heaviness, complemented by caryophyllene (spice) and pinene (fresh resin note).

Growing – robust, fast and space-saving

Special Kush 1 grows vigorously and fills every available space – a trait that comes directly from the landrace parents. Indoors, plant height should be controlled, as the strain grows strongly in width when given enough space. At 60–100 cm tall indoors, however, it remains easy to manage. Outdoors, Special Kush 1 can grow over 200–270 cm under optimal conditions (warm climate, sufficient sun and water) and deliver up to 550 g per plant. The strain is suitable for short summers and cooler climate zones, as the harvest is completed by the end of September. Indoors, 425–475 g/m² are achieved under 600-watt lighting. The robustness of the landrace genetics makes Special Kush 1 a good choice for beginners looking for an uncomplicated Indica.
