Northern Light by Royal Queen Seeds
Northern Light by Royal Queen Seeds is one of the legendary strains that have left a lasting mark on the genetics of today’s cannabis plants. Although the exact composition of Northern Lights’ lineage remains a mystery, it is believed to have originated from eleven different seeds from the West Coast of the United States. These strains have been bred, crossed, and hybridized so extensively over the years that their exact genetics remain a mystery. One thing is certain, however: Northern Lights served as the foundation for many of the award-winning classics in the history of cannabis.
According to legend, it was originally an exclusive Indica plant from Afghanistan, although some of the original eleven plants reportedly also contained Thai genetics. Today, Royal Queen Seeds is bringing its feminized Northern Lights to market, which is still an Indica-dominant hybrid but exhibits a lot of Sativa in its leaf structure.
Royal Queen Seeds ’s feminized Northern Lights grows up to 1.2 m tall indoors but can reach over 2 m outdoors. It develops relatively long internodes and long, thin leaves, which point to its Sativa background. During the flowering phase, its Afghan heritage comes to life, producing dense, resin-coated buds scattered throughout the plant, culminating in a massive main cola.
On average, it yields about 50–60 g per plant, or about 500 g per square meter under a 600-watt lamp. Outdoors, it can yield up to 625 g per plant, but requires the warm climate of southern Spain, California, or North Africa. With full sunlight and an adequate supply of nutrients and water, Northern Lights will grow into a tree and deliver outstanding yields.
Flowering time is 7–8 weeks . During the flowering process, all buds develop a light, resin-coated surface that begins to glow toward the end of the growth cycle.
Northern Lights is simply one of those knockout smokes that guarantees a couch-lock session for the next few minutes. Its Afghan heritage really comes through in the smoke, and anyone looking for a strong stone need look no further than this beautiful strain.
