Panama Red from Anesia Seeds
Immerse yourself in the spirit of the 60s with a true classic:Panama Red fromAnesia Seeds brings the flair of legendary sativa landraces directly into your grow room. This strain is aimed at anyone who is looking for an authentic, clear head high and wants to experience the unmistakable character of a pure Sativa.
Panama Red is a pure sativa landrace from Panama that already had cult status in the 1960s and 1970s. Back then, it was considered one of the most psychedelic and intense experiences cannabis had to offer - tall, slender, with long internodes and sturdy stems. The strain remains true to this tradition and is still preserved today by a select group of breeders in order to maintain its original character.
Visually and aromatically, Panama Red is in a league of its own. The long, cone-shaped flowers are covered in fine hairs that can turn reddish as they bloom; the leaves and stems also occasionally take on red and brownish tones. Sweet notes reminiscent of sweets dominate in the glass, combined with fresh lemon and a clear citrus aroma. The declared THC content of 21% THC ensures that the head effect is clearly noticeable without going into the extreme range of modern High-THC hybrids to push forward.
When consumed, the mental effect is clearly in the foreground: a soft, cerebral high, often described as euphoric and full of energy, which awakens attention and can turn into a long-lasting, introspective and sometimes trippy high. There are hardly any reports of physical heaviness, instead a light, clear sativa flow dominates. Many users choose Panama Red for creative moments, for inspiration or for intense hours as a couple, when the focus is on a conscious, mentally alert experience.
In cultivation, Panama Red is a large, vigorously stretching plant that can reach 140-200 cm indoors and even up to 350 cm outdoors. For indoor cultivation, it is recommended to bend the plants down early to control the height and achieve an even distribution of light. The flowering time is rather long at 10-12 weeks, but is rewarded with stable XL yields of around 500-600 g/m² indoors and up to 750 g per plant outdoors. The variety is suitable for hot to moderately warm climates and can develop its full potential both indoors and outdoors.
Panama Red is available as feminized seeds in pack sizes of 3, 5 or 10 seeds and can therefore be used flexibly for different project sizes - from compact indoor set-ups to spacious outdoor gardens. Due to its clear, mentally oriented sativa profile, it is often chosen during the day, especially in phases in which an invigorating, alert state is desired and stressful everyday situations are to be mastered more creatively.

Short version: Hydroponics-friendly, robust growth in width, alert, clear head high Why I particularly like this variety: It is a pure, older variety with a clear high profile. The modern varieties are all somehow a little more hybrid in their spectrum of effects. Even the Haze-dominant ones can give you a good body buzz. Panama Red has a clear head high without a body effect. For example, I once had a creative block while modeling the data model of a report, so I took a break, pushed a small bag, rinsed, and when I dried off, the solution popped up in my head. So really, great strain with business suitability. This is how I grew: hydroponics without water exchange, without soap, without cleaning, without hydrogen peroxide or similar, I call it the "brackish water method". It has worked well for me. I live under the roof, so it can get hotter. I've had a lot of losses and learning effects due to water being turned over. That's why I always let the water soak in a little. Cannabis is a robust plant, it can take it. A plant that is used to brackish water can also survive higher water temperatures in summer. The "clean systems" have always turned me over. They take an immense amount of time to maintain. I don't have that. I travel too often for work. Important: regular EC and pH measurements are mandatory.
Suitable fertilizers for the brackish water method for me are "gen1:11", "F-Max", "Atami", "Terra Aquatica". They also all work with the Kratky method.
What doesn't work: Advanced Nutritients. I tried the PH-Perfect Master Recipe. The water turns into a stinking soup with a pH of 8 within a few hours. The fertilizer probably needs the water cooler and the circulation. About the plant: The yield is decent, but not amazing. It tends to grow smaller and more compact, needs more width, has little shoot and fits perfectly in a 120x60x160 tent with three others.
The cuttings are of good quality. The plant grows uncomplicated. Taste: Subtle fruit, smooth flavor, soft smoking without scratchiness The smoking experience is great lightness. I use hybrid filters and a 60/40 mix with the blue Pueblo. After that, an "easy-rider feeling" quickly sets in.
